Association Grégory Lemarchal
The Association Grégory Lemarchal was created on June 7, 2007 to combat cystic fibrosis after the death of singer Grégory Jean-Paul Lemarchal at twenty-three. His parents, Laurence and Pierre, and his sister, Leslie decided that the singer’s success and the popularity of the young artist, winner of Star Academy, should be used to create awareness about the disease in society and speak out about the rights of affected patients. Therefore, its main mission is to reduce the physical and psychological suffering of patients, improving their quality of life, hospitalization conditions, access to care, and help complete research projects to eradicate the disease.
The reform of the Strauss Hall and the incorporation of an intensive care area of Pneumology of Cochin Hospital in Paris was made possible in part by a grant from the Global Gift Foundation. Improving the space, creating a space for medical carers and most importantly, eight new patient rooms, designed to improve the daily life of patients with cystic fibrosis in hospital with respiratory problems.
