ZAZOU BELOUNIS
Zazou Belounis‘ story is one of resilience and perseverance, from his career as a professional footballer to his successful venture into the world of gastronomy in Marbella. Today, he is the owner and CEO of the renowned Casanis Group restaurant group, which boasts four highly successful establishments on the Costa del Sol, one in the Sierra Nevada, and a pop-up in Saudi Arabia.
Zazou’s passion for cooking led him to accept an opportunity to join a gastronomic project in Marbella. After working as a waiter at Casa Mono, Zazou partnered with Guy Sirre, founder of Casanis Bistrot, to establish the Casanis Group in 2018. Later, they incorporated Fabián Cangas as executive chef and partner of the group.
Zazou’s personal history has always been linked to compassion and helping those in need. The Casanis Group is commit to corporate social responsibility and philanthropy, with a strong focus on sustainability and care for the environment. Zazou has made a commitment to donate a percentage of the Casanis Group’s income to support the projects of Casa Ángeles, the day center for children with special needs of the Global Gift Foundation, as well as to support the new dream of María Bravo, a home for the elderly in Estepona.
The Casanis Group offers a completedining experience with unique and distinctive environments, including Casanis Bistrot, which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, especially French with Belgian roots, influenced by southern gastronomy. La Plage Casanis is a perfect beach club to enjoy the summer, Mediterranean food, and the best sunsets in Marbella. Mamzel at Finca Besaya, located on the exclusive Golden Mile of Marbella, offers a dinner show that is sure to leave you breathless. Mamzel at Finca Besaya in Alu-Ula, Saudi Arabia is the first international pop-up restaurant of the acclaimed group. Note Blu New Brasserie is a renovated French brasserie concept, located in the mythical Meridiana. Chalet Casanis, the first restaurant of the Casanis Group in Sierra Nevada, Granada, opens in pop-up mode during the winter season, offering international cuisine with top-quality products in an idyllic setting.
