Maria Bravo attends the International Conference on Social Inclusion in Uzbekistan organized by Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva, ambassador of Global Gift Foundation
Tashkent, Uzbekistán. 31st January – 1 February, 2017. The founder and president of the Global Gift Foundation, Maria Bravo, attended the International Conference on Social Inclusion of Children without parental control, orphans, as well as children with special needs. The conference, was organized by the You Are Not Alone Foundation and the “National Centre for Social Adaptation of Children”. More than 200 local and international experts attended the conference, as well as representatives from UNESCO, UNICEF, UNDP, the EU Delegation in Uzbekistan and Global Foundation. Maria was accompanied by International Marketing Director Hazel Gormley-Leahy and Karina Milici, President of the CADI association – one of the 6 ONG´s included in the Global Gift Casa project.
The International Conference on Social Inclusion has served as a platform for dialogue and exchange of experiences among practitioners developing effective mechanisms in the area of social integration and adaptation of children with special needs. Bravo joined forces with Founder and President of the Foundation “You Are Not Alone”, Lola Karimova, (winner of the Global Gift Philanthropist Award in Cannes 2016), creating a bond of trust and unity that benefits both foundations. Lola Karimova, daughter of the late President of Uzbekistan, recently supported the Global Gift Foundation by attending the presentation of the Global Gift Home in July 2016.
Maria Bravo said: I am proud to be a part of the International Conference on Social Inclusion of the You Are Not Alone Foundation and the National Center for the Social Adaptation of Children. I am deeply grateful for the generosity of Lola Karimova, who will equip the Global Gift House with the infrastructure needed by providing the equipment and medical apparatus for the rehabilitation and therapies of our children. In Uzbekistan or in Spain, the problems are the same as in the rest of the world. What sets us apart is how we treat them. Joining forces is key to fighting any problem, however big it may be.
About You Are Not Alone Foundation:
The You Are Not Alone Foundation was created by Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva in 2002 to assist orphanages and children without parental care in Uzbekistan. Two years later, in 2004, Ms. Karimova-Tillyaeva founded the National Center for the Social Adaptation of Children, a charitable organization that provides medical and educational assistance to children with disabilities. The Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva Foundation has initiated and implemented several large-scale projects; Construction, and renovation of a series of Mercy Homes in Uzbekistan.
