• The Co-founder Maria Bravo was accompanied by Eva Longoria, Victoria Beckham, Ronan Keating, Katie Piper and Anastacia in the sixth edition of the benefit event at the British capital.

  • The mothers2mothers charity was awarded the ‘Global Gift Our Heroes Award’ by Victoria Beckham and Katie Piper received the ‘Global Gift Humanitarian Award’ presented by Eva Longoria.

 

The Global Gift Foundation held the sixth edition of the charity event on 30th November in London. The Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane hosted an evening in which one of the founders, María Bravo, had the support of actress Eva Longoria as honorary chair. The actress, is concentrated on her new television project, called Telenovela, however she remains committed to initiatives for the most in need as well as her unconditional support to the Global Gift Foundation causes.  “Going back to London is very reassuring as we know that the people here have a strong social conscience and thrilled us to continue with our work”.

The VI Global Gift Gala London was especially emotional for the thanks that Princes William and Harry gave to both the Global Gift and the Eva Longoria Foundations in the letter that the presenter Nick Ede read during the event and said the following: “My brother Harry and I want to thank with this letter the unconditional support for the Diana Award which is so important to us and our mother, but also our wish is to continue this relationship during 2016”.

María Bravo and Prince William coincided last 21st September in one of the activities of the Diana Award for the ‘Anti-Bullying’ Project. In that event the Prince showed a deep interest for the activities and the worldwide social commitment of the Global Gift Foundation. “It is an honour to have the support of the British Royal Family. Your letter gives us more strenght to continue with the fight for the most in need”, said María Bravo.

 

Three benefited projects

The London Gala aims to raise funds for various projects that improve the lives of families in need all over the world. On this occasion, the raised funds will be donated to charitable causes of three foundations: the Eva Longoria Foundation, The Diana Award and the Global Gift Foundation.

The funds raised for the Eva Longoria Foundation will reinforce entrepreneurship programs and micro loans for Latinas in the United States.

The Diana Award was established in memory of the Princess of Wales and pays tribute to her belief that “Young people have the power to improve the world”. The Foundation has the support of her two sons which they honour their mother’s legacy through a mission: to inspire and recognize the social actions of the youngest. The foundation that has celebrated its 16th anniversary fighting against bullying among others activities. “We express great gratitude for the support that the Global Gift Foundation has given us over the past two years and we are happy to continue our work with them. We are the legacy of Princess Diana and we feel that Global Gift is part of that legacy, with the same enthusiasm, the same values and the passion for this work”.

Among the programs developed by the foundation, “The Diana Award” highlights ‘Anti-Bullying’ for the prevention of bullying suffered by some children. Over 15,000 ambassadors train young people through workshops and meetings in more than 3,000 schools in the UK.

Meanwhile, Maria announced that funds corresponding to the Global Gift Foundation will be used for its own project that they are working on: La Casa Global Gift in Marbella that is a multifunctional centre for children with special needs and their families, providing psychological help, medical treatment and therapy for children affected by rare diseases.

 

Katie Piper and mothers2mothers, Global Gift awards

During the London Gala, Katie Piper and the mothers2mothers received the ‘Global Gift Humanitarian Award’ and the ‘Global Gift Our Heroes Award’, respectively, for their philanthropic work.

Eva Longoria presented the award to Katie Piper for her philanthropic work to her foundation that bears her name. Katie runs a campaign known as “having a scar means not having a day off”. The Katie Piper Foundation’s vision is to have a world where scars do not limit a person’s function, social inclusion or sense of wellbeing.  “Katie is an example for all of us. Her spirit of overcoming is matched only by her bravery and her dedication to others”, said María Bravo remembering how Piper has faced more than 30 surgeries after her boyfriend threw sulphuric acid in her face in 2008.

On the other hand Victoria Beckham, Singer, designer and UN ambassador presented the award to mothers2mothers. The foundation’s aim is to end the transmission of HIV from mother to child in eight African countries.

In the last Gala held in Marbella, Father Angel received the ‘Global Gift Humanitarian Award’ for his work as head of the foundation Mensajeros de la Paz, while the chef and entrepreneur Samantha Vállejo-Nájera was awarded with the ‘Global Gift Our Heroes Award’ in recognition of its active commitment to social causes, in particular to projects aimed at the development of people with disabilities and Down Syndrome.

 

Picasso and Dalí work art for sales by auction

During the evening the presenter, Chris Hopkins led a charity auction with exclusive lots including works by Picasso, an experience to go the set of Eva Longoria’s comedy Telenovela and a work of Dali that was purchased by Ronan Keating. Also, dresses by Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham were bought for 28,400 Euros each that were acquired by Jessica Pires and the international designer Monsoori.

The Gala, presented by Sarah-Jane Crawford, featured exclusive performances by international singers like Anastasia, Ronan Keating and Kym Mazelle, the first lady of the House music. As well as Collette Cooper, Stooshe, Bethany Hare and the female DJ duo The Glitter Beats enlivened the evening. The actress Eva Longoria starred in one of the magic tricks by Spanish magician Antonio Díaz, known as Mago Pop.

The dinner was held thanks to the support of sponsors such as Helmer, Frederique Constant, Duc de la Rose, Rioja, the Four Seasons Hotel London in Park Lane, and the special collaboration of the designer Monsoori.

Among those attending the Global Gift Gala in London were personalities from the fields of culture, fashion and sports as the likes of Eva Longoria, Victoria Beckham, Sheeva Moshiri, Katie Piper, Jessica y Robert Pires, Ken Paves, Lorena Bernal, Miquel Arteta, Anastacia, Mago Pop, Tallia Storm, Ronan Keating, Kym Mazelle together with entrepreneurs and businessmen committed to charitable causes and the values of the Global Gift Foundation.

The next charitable initiatives of the Global Gift Foundation will take place on 3rd December in Miami and 12th December in Dubai. Its most renowned events are the Global Gift Galas held in different parts of the world (Paris, London, Los Angeles, Mexico and Marbella) which main aim is to fundraise in order to support local, national and international humanitarian projects by NGO’s fiscally responsible.
