The V edition of The Global Gift Gala Marbella raises funds in Costa del Sol for Eva Longoria Foundation, Global Gift Foundation and ‘Mensajeros de la Paz’
- The founder Maria Bravo and hostess of honour Eva Longoria were in Marbella for the fifth consecutive year to raise funds for social causes that improve the lives of children, women and families
- Funds will go entirely to Eva Longoria Foundation, Mensajeros de la Paz and Global Gift Foundation
- Actors Amaury Nolasco and Belinda Washington were the presenters of the event, which has offered auctions, performances and a Michelin star menu

Marbella, 18th July 2016. The Global Gift Foundation has celebrated the V edition of The Global Gift Gala Marbella, which makes the city the center of summer solidarity of the Costa del Sol. The Gran Melia Don Pepe hotel has hosted the event, in which the founder and host of honor, Maria Bravo received with the Ambassador of honor, Eva Longoria, celebrities, Global Gifters and philanthropists, gathered in order to improve the lives of families in need from all over the world.
The actor Amaury Nolasco, recognized for his role in Prison Break, presented with actress and TV presenter, Belinda Washington, a gala full of emotional moments and many expressions of solidarity and support during the auctions and donations.
After the performance of Melissa Nkonda, the evening began with a dinner prepared by the chefs Diego Gallegos, 1 star Michelin Chef Revelation 2015 Madrid Fusion (Restaurant Sollo) and Oscar Velasco, prize “Chef L’Avenir” by the International Academy of Gastronomy and 2 Michelin stars (Restaurant Santcelloni) and the chef of Gran Melia Don Pepe, Victor Carracedo. The master confectioner Jean-Philippe Darcis was in charge of desserts.
Mensajeros de la Paz will direct its funds to fight child poverty and strengthen its work in food banks. “It is urgent that we fight for everyone’s access to commodities, especially the most vulnerable. Global Gift Gala is an ideal opportunity”, said the founder of the association.
The funds raised for the Eva Longoria Foundation will reinforce entrepreneurship programs and micro loans for Latinas in the United States. In this edition, the Global Gift Foundation will go to the Global Gift House, resource center for children that has been presented during the morning in Marbella.
The local mayor, Jose Bernal, said “I am pleased to return to this event in our city and I am very proud to see that in the last year the Global Gift Foundation has helped many families to improve his life. I want to show my unconditional support to this philosophy of life born in Marbella which is now present in other 12 cities”.
Musical notes got a unique climate in the gardens of Gran Melia Don Pepe: India Martinez, Adrian Martin, Chenoa, Melissa Nkonda and Sophia Lis thrilled the attendees, who ended up dancing with Dj Tony Mendes music.
The traditional auction during dinner had exclusive lots such as two Brainwash paintings, from the French-born street artist Thierry Guetta, or a Jean Paul Gaultier dress. The experience which fundraised the most was the exclusive visit to The Global Gift Gala in London with two of its protagonists, Victoria Beckham and Eva Longoria.
Four Global Gift Awards
Eva Longoria and Maria Bravo presented together the Global Gift Awards, awarded to personalities who have made a difference in the lives of others through their personal and professional involvement.
The writer and philanthropist Karen Ruimy received the ‘Global Gift Humanitarian Award’ for his philanthropic activities and fight with global authorities to improve the lives of women, such as her open letter to Angela Merkel and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, urging them to make changes in development financing. The ‘Global Gift We Believe in People’ Award recognized Massimo Gargia, Neapolitan public relations, as “an example of an activist for social causes” which has donated for years to social causes that match Global Gift Foundation goals: transform lives of women, children and families.
The Swedish philanthropist Michel Issa, considered as an important ‘multi-entrepreneur’, picked up the ‘Global Gift Philanthropist’ Award for the work of the NGO he founded, WAA (World Aid Active), through which are built medical centers in India and Bangladesh where affected families by the war in Syria and Iraq are welcomed.
These awards have been granted before to personalities such as David Beckham, Deepak Chopra, Mary Carey, Ricky Martin, Samantha Vallejo-Najera and Vicente del Bosque in recognition of their charity work.
The Global Gift Gala Marbella 2016 counted among its attendees with: the model Alessandra Ambrosio, journalist Isabel Gemio and former French footballer Robert Pires and his wife Jessica Pires (Our Heroes Award in Cannes), Lorena Bernal, Prince Azim Brunei, Barbara King, Carmen Lomana, Barbara King, Silvia Olmedo, Doriam Sojo or Oscar Pertusa.
The municipal team of Marbella City Council was represented by the mayor José Bernal and council members Victoria Morales (Social Rights) and Javier Porcuna (Industry and Public Roads).

Mensajeros de la Paz was founded in 1962 by Father Angel Garcia Rodriguez. It is an NGO declared of public utility at national and international levels. It has received, among other awards, the Prince of Asturias Award. Its main activity in the beginning was the creation of homes to foster abandoned children by providing them with a family environment. Over the years it has expanded its activities to other vulnerable social sectors: women victims of domestic violence, physically and mentally disabled and the elderly who live in loneliness, abandonment or destitution.
